Brief Academic Profile of Michael Enyinwa Okoronkwo (PhD)
Michael Enyinwa Okoronkwo (60) is a Catholic Priest from the Diocese of Umuahia, and a Reader (Associate Professor of New Testament and Intercultural Studies). He joined the National Open University in 2013, Before joining the University system as a full-time lecturer, he worked as Research Assistant/lecturer at University of Bonn, Germany. He was also a guest lecturer at Abia State University Uturu, Seat of Wisdom Seminary Owerri, Catholic Theological Institute of West Africa (CIWA) Port Harcourt. He also served as Secretary to the Catholic Bishop of Umuahia (1990-1992, 2001-2011). Director of Special Duties (2005-2013).
Okoronkwo holds PhD in New Testament Exegesis (Bonn, Germany). He has also PGDE from University of Calabar, MSc in Industrial Sociology and Personnel Management (Imo State University Owerri, Nigeria) and in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution (NOUN, Nigeria). He has BPhil in Philosophy and BA in Theology from Urban University Rome.
He has served the University in various capacities: University Coordinator for Conference Marking Benin Zone, Subject Officer, Examination Officer, Admission Officer, Faculty Representative for Postgraduate Board, Head of Department.
